Moderation

The Moderation module is on by default. Every action creates a numbered case (for example #0042) that you can look up later, even after the member has left.

What you can do#

• Warn members with /warn, list, revoke or clear warnings with /warnings.

• Timeout (up to 28 days), kick, ban, tempban (a ban that lifts itself) and unban.

• Notes that only staff see, with /note.

• Cases: /case view, /case history, /case edit, /case reason. Deleting a case is a soft delete that stays in the audit log.

• Purge up to 100 recent messages, set slowmode, lock/hide channels, change nicknames and add or remove roles.

How it behaves#

• Reasons are stored up to 1,000 characters; Discord's own audit log receives the first 512, prefixed with the moderator.

• Aurora sends the member a message first when DMs are enabled, then acts. If Discord refuses the action, the case is marked deleted and you see an error ID.

• A moderation log channel receives one embed per case. Set it with /case config logchannel. If it cannot be posted to, the action still succeeds and the reply says the log post failed.

• Durations accept 10m, 2h, 7d and combinations such as 1h30m.
