First setup

The first few things to do after adding Aurora: check that it works, pick modules, set a log channel and assign staff roles.

1. Check that Aurora responds#

Run /aurora status in your server. It shows the gateway latency, uptime and version. Run /help to browse every command by category.

2. Choose a language#

/config language sets the server language (English or German). It applies to Aurora's replies in your server.

3. Switch on the modules you need#

Several modules are on by default; others stay off until you enable them. In Discord use /config module-list, /config module-enable and /config module-disable. In the dashboard open Modules and use the switches. Switching a module off keeps its settings.

4. Give your staff roles an Aurora group#

Aurora does not use Discord's Administrator permission to decide who can moderate. Assign permission groups to roles with /permissions assign (or in the dashboard under Permissions). See Permissions.

5. Pick log channels#

Send log categories to channels with /config logging-set, check them with /config logging-status and post a test with /config logging-test. See Logs & audit.

6. Open the dashboard#

Sign in at the dashboard with Discord and pick your server. See Dashboard login.

Optional#

  • AutoMod rules are all off until you turn them on; start with /automod rule-list.

  • Restrict a command to channels or roles with /config command-channel and /config command-role.

  • Move your settings between servers with /config export and /config import.
