Bot Control

Send, preview, edit, delete and schedule messages as Aurora from the dashboard, with safe mention handling.

Bot Control lets authorized administrators speak as Aurora in their own server without writing a command. Open it from the sidebar: Bot Control.

Who can use it#

Bot Control needs the administrator tier: the server owner, a member with Discord's Administrator permission or a member with the Aurora ADMINISTRATOR group. Manage Server alone, moderators and ordinary members cannot use it. You must also be able to view and send in the target channel yourself, and Aurora must be able to post there. A channel you cannot use is never listed.

Composing a message#

  • Write text with Discord formatting; the toolbar adds bold, italics, code, spoiler and quote.

  • Add embeds with the Embed Builder and link buttons that open an address.

  • The preview shows how the message will look in Discord, using the real limits (2,000 characters of text, up to 10 embeds and 6,000 characters of embed text in total).

  • Send now or schedule it.

Pings are explicit#

Text that says @everyone, @here or a role name pings nobody by default. To ping, you switch it on explicitly: allow member mentions, choose roles, or enable @everyone/@here. Pinging everyone or a role that is not mentionable needs your Mention Everyone permission, Aurora's Mention Everyone permission, the explicit switch and a confirmation.

History, edit and delete#

Messages sent through Bot Control appear in the History tab. You can edit or delete them there; delete asks for confirmation. Only messages Aurora sent through Bot Control are listed, and only in channels you can still use.

Templates#

Save a composed message as a template and reuse it later from the Templates tab.

How it stays safe#

The bot sends the message, not the browser, and you never see or control the bot token. A request the bot does not start within a minute expires instead of being sent late. Sends are limited to 10 a minute per member and 30 a minute per server, and a double click sends once. Every action is audited with your name and without the message text.
