Dashboard login

How signing in to the Aurora dashboard works, who can manage which server, and how sessions end.

Signing in#

  1. Open the dashboard and choose Sign in with Discord.

  2. Authorize Aurora on Discord's own page. Aurora asks only to see your identity and your list of servers.

  3. Pick a server on the server picker.

You never type your Discord password into Aurora. The sign-in uses OAuth 2.0 with PKCE, and the access token is used once and then revoked.

Who can manage a server#

You can manage a server in the dashboard if you are:

  • the server owner,

  • a member with Discord's Administrator permission, or

  • a member holding an Aurora permission group that the feature needs.

Having Manage Server alone is not enough. Rights are re-checked against live Discord data on every change, so removing a role takes effect immediately.

If a server is not listed or says it is not available, either Aurora is not on it, you are not a member, or you have no rights there. Aurora deliberately answers these cases the same way.

Sessions#

  • A session ends after 8 hours without activity, or 7 days in total.

  • Sign out ends it at once. Signing in again on another device creates a separate session.

  • The session cookie is secure and HttpOnly, so scripts on the page cannot read it.

Languages#

The dashboard is available in English and German. The language switcher is in the sidebar.
